I'm very careful with recycling things and always showing the Love towards our planet. However I have to admit I'm biased towards aviation: fly on!

I take comfort that engines are becoming always more fuel efficient. I know its a large source of pollution, but I just like aircraft and traveling too much!

Game Data / Austria / Österreich : updated passenger figures
« on: June 04, 2019, 05:20:38 PM »
Good day / Servus!

Here are the updated figures for Austrian airports. Vienna Airport sees a particularly impressive rise in passenger numbers.

VIENNA, from current  23,352,016 up to 27,037,349 yearly passengers.
Link is from official Vienna airport website (in German). Midway through the document are the official yearly figures for 2018
 https://www.viennaairport.com/unternehmen/investor_relations/news/verkehrsergebnisse?news_beitrag_id=1547640734879

For the other Austrian airports, I consulted this link (in German). They are from the official "STATISTIK AUSTRIA" organization.
http://www.statistik.at/web_de/statistiken/energie_umwelt_innovation_mobilitaet/verkehr/luftfahrt/personenverkehr/070712.html

To get the total figures, you need to refer to the tables for "Fluggäste" (passengers), and add the columns for "AN" (arrivals) + "AB" (departures) + "Transit". These are the official figures for 2018.

I did the calculations for you, but it's always better if you double check.

INNSBRUCK:     1,119,347 yearly passengers
GRAZ:                 1,030,929 yearly passengers
KLAGENFURT:      228,372 yearly passengers
LINZ:                     464,586 yearly passengers
SALZBURG:       1,844,468 yearly passengers

Some of the variations are minimal compared to current AM figures, but at least you would have the exact and latest airport figures for Austria.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen.

Game Data / Morocco - New Passenger figures (year 2017)
« on: June 03, 2019, 01:07:55 PM »
Good day,

Here are  the updated passenger figures for Moroccan airports, for the year 2017.

Figures are from the official "Office National Des Aéroports" (ONDA).

http://www.onda.ma/content/download/9803/88734/version/1/fichier/CP+trafic+ann%C3%A9e+2017.pdf

For example:

* Casablanca's current AM yearly pax: 7,971,705 ----> new passenger figure 9 ,357,427 pax.
* Tangier's current AM yearly pax: 766,364  ----> new passenger figure 1,070,247  pax.

Hopefully you'll be able to update the game data soon. Let me know if you need help translating from French, but the table on page 2 of the document should be pretty straightforward to understand.

Best regards.

Bugs / [Fixed] Message Board
« on: May 31, 2019, 10:10:52 AM »
Hi, it's me again.

Sorry but I have another issue now, in this same world PW3360.

It concerns the in-world forum aka "Message Board".

In Firefox:

I can create a new post by choosing the "category" and then entering a "subject" for the post. But then it will not allow me to type in any text in the "message" box. Same thing occurs if I hit "reply" instead of creating a new post.

In Internet Explorer:

Although I prefer Firefox, I tried with I.E. to see if any difference. Here I can indeed type in a text message. However once I publish the post, the formatting is somewhat off (wide spaces, unusual layout, truncated text). If I attempt to edit this post, then it's not possible, I get a strange message such as:

Under the above announcement I read: "Airline Mogul is not responding due to a long running script".

It also won't let me delete the post, on either of the two browsers.

Could you please also have a look at this issue?

Thanks

Bugs / Trouble in re-setting myself
« on: May 29, 2019, 03:30:13 PM »
Greetings AM Team,

I'm the "owner" or PW3360. After several weeks of absence for various reasons, I wanted to come back into my long world, and re-set my airline.

However, this is not working correctly it seems. Issues are:

* No name / Logo will appear at the top of my "view airline" page [https://www.airlinemogul.com/view_airline.php?id=36799]
* My status is noted as : "Inactive"
* Several of the aircraft operated/owned by my previous airline prior to reset have not been removed.

Basically, it doesn't really appear to work. I have attempted to reset myself 3 times with the same result, and to log off and back on.

Would you please have a look and let me know if you can reset me from your end?

Also, while I am here bothering you, could you please also change the starting aircraft from "3 X MD-83" to "3 X Bombardier CRJ-200LR" ? If at all possible, do this prior to resetting my airline, so that I can start anew with those 3 aircraft.

Thanks a lot!

Bugs / Loss of revenues on the B-747 ?
« on: October 23, 2018, 10:28:25 AM »
Good day,

PW3360

Sorry in advance as this one might be a bit complicated. However I just came across a situation where my route revenue for B747 has dropped significantly when I am swapping aircraft.

Basically, I am operating two B747-200 out of Rome, flying to Chicago, JFK, Incheon and Beijing. I have just swapped two old aircraft for newly purchased aircrafts. The variants/engines are the same. It's an exact aircraft-for-aircraft switch, on the exact same routes I was flying before. However as you will see from the screenshots below, the revenue per route has dropped significantly, for no reason that I can understand (other airline competition is not a factor here, as two of the routes have NO competition).

Aircraft #1 PREVIOUS to the swap:

Aircraft #1 AFTER the swap:

Aircraft #2 PREVIOUS to the swap:

Aircraft #2 AFTER the swap:

For example in aircraft #1, the route Rome to Beijing used to have a ticket price of 515 € and a revenue of 112,039 €, but once I changed it the ticket price is higher (517€) for a much lower revenue (77,395€)

Do you know why this is? Operating 747's is already challenging in Airline Mogul, but with these lower revenues it becomes increasingly difficult.

Note: when I swap Lockheed Tristars the revenues remain (roughly) the same, so this issue seems to affect only my 747's.

Thanks in advance.

Game Data / Northwest Florida Beaches Intl X 2
« on: October 09, 2018, 09:03:57 AM »
Good day,

Just to let you know it appears that Northwest Florida Beaches Intl airport in Panama City (FL) seems to be included twice in the game, 6 NM apart.

See screenshot. This is perhaps an error?

Best regards.

Game Data / Oslo Rygge Airport has closed
« on: July 11, 2018, 05:11:30 PM »
Greetings,

Just spotted this one : Oslo Rygge (RYG/ENRY) airport has closed to all civilian traffic since 2016.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160831085451/http://www.en.ryg.no/post/4872415/

The airport is in the game, so I don't know if you want to remove it now?

Best regards.

General Chat / Airlines against fascism
« on: June 22, 2018, 12:23:35 PM »
Yesterday and today, several American airlines have stated that they would refuse to knowingly transport immigrant children separated from their families, on behalf of the U.S. government.

United Airlines released the following statement, echoed by several other carriers:

"Based on our serious concerns about this policy and how it's in deep conflict with our company's values, we have contacted federal officials to inform them that they should not transport immigrant children on United aircraft who have been separated from their parents. This policy and its impact on children is in deep conflict with that mission and we want no part of it."

Frontier Airlines stated:

"Frontier prides itself on being a family airline and we will not knowingly allow our flights to be used to transport migrant children away from their families".

I hereby would like to personally thank the following airlines for refusing to be part of such a terrible and cruel policy: SOUTHWEST AIRLINES, FRONTIER AIRLINES, UNITED AIRLINES, AMERICAN AIRLINES, ALASKA AIRLINES and SPIRIT AIRLINES.

As an American citizen, I am deeply troubled by the direction taken by the United States government at the present time, and I fear this is just the beginning of a path headed towards fascism, and hate. Everyone should be aware, everyone should care. Love will prevail in the end, but after what perils, trials and tribulations? So thanks to all airlines, companies, and individuals that will resist and refuse to be part of such dangerous policies.

OK apologies for my tirade, let's get back to playing Airline Mogul!

Suggestions / Average fleet age
« on: June 14, 2018, 04:00:58 PM »
Hello,

I have a suggestion that should be relatively easy to implement: that an airline's average fleet age be rendered visible to other players within a world.

I think it should be feasible technically because this figure/calculation already exists in the game. When one clicks on the "Aircraft" tab, one can see his own fleet's average age.
But currently we cannot see other airline's average fleet age.

The reason I think it would be nice to see this figure is because it could motivate players to regularly renew their fleets, and therefore to keep playing actively in the game.

I can understand that an airline's current cash amounts remain private, because in the real world too airlines do not tend to release this information. However in the real world, it is quite easy to find out an airline's average fleet age.

Anyway, its just an idea...

All the best,

Thunderstruck

Game Strategy / delay for airline inactivity
« on: June 13, 2018, 04:13:23 PM »
Hello,

I was wondering if someone could just confirm to me the amount of time before an airline becomes inactive?

From my previous understanding and from a couple of forum posts I came across it went as follows:

* Last login time + 21 days = inactive
* Enable holiday mode = adds two extra weeks before an airline becomes inactive.

However in my world, a player just became inactive after only 14 days not logging in.

Thanks, just would like to make sure I understand correctly...

Dear everyone,

Please see below the invitation and details of a new private world, that you are all welcome to join at any time.
Do let me know if you have any questions about it.

Kind regards.

General Chat / How are aircraft registration numbers attributed?
« on: May 13, 2018, 05:18:27 PM »
Hello,

This is just out of curiosity, and I'm not sure if anyone holds the answer. But how are aircraft registration numbers attributed?
I initially thought they would be in a progressive order, but in a new world I'm in, my first three default aircraft are registered in Italy, as follows:

I-AAAA
I-AAAB
I-AAAC

but I have purchased a new aircraft, and it has the registration number I-AADS which does not logically follow the previous 3 registration numbers. No other airlines are based in Italy at the moment.

Any ideas how it works?
